A dining club that fits in one tap.

KC Eatz is a members-only club for Kansas City restaurants: $4.99 a month unlocks exclusive coupons at independent spots across the metro, redeemed in person at the table. We built the club, the app and the side the restaurants use. Live on the App Store and Google Play since August 2026.

The club, the price and the app in one screen
The feed — tonight, near you

Two sides, and neither one starts full.

A local offers marketplace has the same cold start every time. Diners won't pay for a club with three restaurants in it, and restaurants won't sign up for an audience that doesn't exist yet. So version one has to be worth opening while one side is still thin — that is a sequencing decision, not a feature.

The answer here was to make the club feel curated rather than comprehensive. A short list of independent Kansas City restaurants, one exclusive deal each, refreshed monthly. Scarcity reads as taste instead of emptiness, and a restaurant joining sees the room it will appear in.

The offer is deliberately small enough not to think about: $4.99 a month, no contract, cancel anytime. The pitch is that one dinner out pays for the year.

Join, browse, redeem at the table.

Three steps and none of them are a printout. Subscribe, open the feed, show the coupon to the server. Deals sit behind the membership — every card shows the restaurant, cuisine and neighborhood, and keeps the coupon locked until you're a member, so the value of joining is legible before you pay.

  • Cuisine filters and a map view for what's near you now
  • Member-exclusive coupons, redeemed in person with a simple code
  • Unlimited redemptions across every partner restaurant
  • Save favorite spots for later
KC Eatz app membership screen: one tier at $4.99 a month with unlimited redemptions

This month's list, and it changes.

The feed is the product. Independent Kansas City restaurants, each with one member deal, refreshed so opening the app has a reason. Neighborhood is on the card because in this metro that is the deciding factor.

Partner restaurants across the metro, one deal each

The app, designed screen by screen.

Before a line of production code, the whole member journey was drawn as real screens: find a table tonight, see what's near you, open a restaurant, hit the paywall, walk into the room with a live code. Designing it end to end is what made the $4.99 decision defensible — you can see exactly what the money unlocks and where it stops.

  • Restaurant profile — coupons on a tab
  • Paywall — the whole offer on one screen

$4.99 a month, and nothing behind it to read.

One price, one tier, billed through the App Store or Google Play. No annual lock, no tiers to compare, no upsell — the whole membership fits in a panel, which is the point. The decision is small on purpose.

One tier, stated in full

And the panel the club is actually run from.

A dining club is only as good as how fast an offer can change. The back office was designed alongside the app: every venue in one table, every coupon in another, and an edit panel that slides in rather than throwing you onto a separate page. Adding a restaurant, drafting a coupon and pulling an expired one are all one screen deep.

  • Restaurants: cover, logo, cuisine, address, links and status in one panel
  • Coupons filtered by all, active, expired and draft
  • Codes generated or typed, with dates and dine-in terms attached
  • Draft first, publish when the restaurant confirms
